ROHINI, a registry of hospitals

The Insurance Information Bureau of India is in the advanced stage of preparing a Registry of Network Hospitals in India (ROHINI), which will be a registry of unique hospitals in the health insurers and TPAs network in the country. The project intends to provide unique identification to hospitals in the country. The effort recently received support from Medinfi Healthcare, which is offering its people, processes and technology for creating the ROHINI database, modelled on the lines of Aadhar. ROHINI was launched in December 2015. The Insurance Information Bureau of India was promoted in 2009 by IRDA, with the participation of stakeholders of the insurance sector, with the objective of supporting the insurance industry with sector-level data to enable data-based and scientific decision making including pricing and framing of business strategies.
