IndusInd sponsors cricket program for blind

IndusInd Bank has launched the ‘World Champions Program – Cricket for the Blind’, in partnership with Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), a sports initiative of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. The bank will support the Indian blind cricket team, consisting of 26 players that will represent India at domestic and international tournaments. Besides, there will be year-long cricketing events, in association with CABI, including the T20 World Cup for the blind and partially-sighted to be held from 28 January 2017. The will provide all support and infrastructure required for the program. It will also provide logistical support to the players, as they travel across the country, to share their success stories and encourage other visually-impaired youngsters to take up the sport. Paul Abraham, COO of the bank, said the objective of the IndusInd Bank World Champions Program- Cricket for the Blind, is to groom the talent and support cricket among the visually challenged. The bank will help the players surpass their capabilities and cross new boundaries by providing them with necessary infrastructure, he added.
