Axis Bank is getting ready to introduce a facility for its customers carry out transactions over WhatsApp. According to Rajiv Anand, ED, Retail Banking at the bank, the bank sees UPI as a huge opportunity and the bank is working in terms of creating a differentiated environment for its customers. He said the bank is also working with partners like Google, Uber, Ola and Samsung Pay to be able to create an ecosystem for customers to be able to make payments. Anand said the bank is in the process of integration to make WhatsApp a payment channel for the bank. Currently, a beta version is running, he added. The service may be available in about a month’s time.
