Bank of America announced that it is stopping lending to manufacturers of military-style firearms that are sold for civilian use. A spokesperson of the bank said the decision follows intense conversations over the last few months with gun-manufacturer clients to let them know Bank of America would no longer finance their operations. It is the bank’s intention not to finance these military-style firearms for civilian use, she said. The bank is among a few financial institutions to vow action in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida. It has issued a statement saying it would examine what it can do to help end the tragedy of mass shootings.
