North East Small Finance Bank Limited has started operations as a small finance bank. The bank, which was earlier called RGVN, or Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi, (North East) Microfinance, had received a license from the Reserve Bank of India to carry out business of a small finance bank. It now becomes operational along with other small finance banks – Capital Small Finance Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Suryoday Small Finance Bank, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, ESAF Small Finance and Utkarsh Small Finance Bank are the other entities operating in the niche banking space.
