YES Bank plans to widen its branch presence in the country to more than double. CEO of the bank Rana Kapoor said the branches of the bank are expected to go up to 1500 by March 2018. Currently the bank has 7000 branches. He added that by 2020, the bank aims to reach its total branches to 2500. He also said that the bank will set up its largest service centre in Chennai to address issues related to retail and SME customers across the country. For this purpose, the bank has leased out 4 lakh sq ft in the first phase, and plans to commence operations within 3-4 months with an initial manpower of 1500. Kapoor said that by 2018, the bank would have leased out 9 lakh sq ft in all and, by then, would employ 7500 people. This would be the centre of management excellence of the bank and would be an HR-driven set-up on the lines of global companies, such as Google and HP, he said.
