The World Investor Week (WIW), the annual event of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), will be held in India from November 22-28, 2021. The event is regarded as a significant step toward investor empowerment, particularly for individual and retail investors.
This year, the WIW will focus on the prevention of frauds, identifying scams, and other topics to protect young investors from missteps in their investment journey. For years, it has attracted participation from India’s leading financial institutions, such as the NSE and other Exchanges, which in turn collaborate with large and medium-sized corporations to conduct financial literacy programs for their employees.
For several years, the NSE has been partnering with awareness experts Be. Artsy to demystify investment and finance fundamentals. “Financial literacy and management is a huge gap left in our education overall. It results in an utter lack of confidence among young professionals and makes them prone to frauds and misguided investment decisions which hurt them in the longer term. Corporates trust us to deliver content that is correct, up to date, objective, well-researched and effective,” said Rehana D’Suza, Vice President and Head of Business Development, NSE.
