Vijaya Bank, which opened 246 branches in 2015-16, will touch 2,000 branches by March 2017. At present, the bank has 1,863 branches. The bank is also targeting business of Rs 2.50 lakh crore. According to Kishore Kumar Sansi, MD and CEO of the bank, the bank has 49 extension counters and 1,651 ATMs. He said in spite of the gloomy economic scenario, the bank was able to register one of the largest growths in retail credit, which has shown a growth of 26 per cent. The bank’s housing loan segment has grown 34.11% while its vehicle loans segment has grown 33.4%, Sansi said. He also said the bank is among the highest capitalized with a capital to risk weighted assets ratio (CRAR) of 12.58% against the minimum 9.25% fixed by the Reserve Bank of India
