Small businesses in Hong Kong cannot open a new account with DBS Bank through a video conferencing system. The bank has introduced ‘Meet Online’ Business Account Opening Service, which enables SME customers to chat with the bank’s relationship manager via FaceTime or WebEx video communication tools and request for opening accounts. Once the application has been accepted a courier service is arranged to collect related documents from the customer’s registered business address. The bank had earlier introduced an online account opening service to enable SMEs to apply via the internet for an account in just 15 minutes. A spokesperson of the bank said ‘Meet Online’ greatly enhances the account opening experience for SME customers as everything can be done with the ease and convenience of a mobile or tablet device anywhere and anytime, thus allowing customers to have more time to grow their business and to live more, bank less.
