UIDAI conducts Aadhaar Hackathon to promote innovation

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has organised the ‘Aadhaar Hackathon 2021′ from October 28 to 31. Through technological innovations, the event aims to promote an innovation culture among Indian youth and to enhance residents’ experiences and interactions with enrolment and authentication software platforms.

So far, UIDAI has received over 2,700 registrations from engineering students in the last few days, which explains the inclination of the young minds in solving real-life challenges confronting residents. Students from engineering institutes, such as IITs, NITs, and NIRF, as well as many top-ranked colleges from across the country, from Arunachal Pradesh in the east to J&K in the north, are among those taking part.

The UIDAI team also holds daily online interactive sessions to explain the problem statements with appropriate use cases. These sessions primarily cover problem statements as well as details about UIDAI APIs and products that would be required to build custom solutions.

The submission will be evaluated by a jury comprised of senior members/officials from the IT industry, academia, consulting, and government. The UIDAI will reward the best solution, and the team will be offered a placement, subject to the fulfilment of other terms and conditions.
