SWIFT wants banks to be cautious on cyber attacks

SWIFTGlobal financial messaging network provider SWIFT, used by 11,000 banks to transfer money has issued an urgent warning to its clients in the wake recent cyber incidents. In a notice issued to clients, it said SWIFT is aware of a number of recent cyber incidents in which malicious insiders or external attackers have managed to submit SWIFT messages from financial institutions to the SWIFT network. It asked banks to install a software upgrade to its messaging platform.
