The Sri Lankan government has presented an ‘Award of Excellence’ to Dr R. Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank. The award was presented at a cultural program organized by the Sri Lankan embassy in Qatar in association with Sri Lanka Coordinating Committee marking Sri Lanka’s 70th Anniversary of independence. Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Qatar A.S.P. Liyanage presented the award to Dr Seetharaman. The award is in recognition of the support extended by Seetharaman in promoting bilateral trade and investment relationships between Qatar and Sri Lanka. Doha Bank has been extending credit lines to Sri Lankan banks and has received in-principle approval for opening a representative office in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and shall commence its operations soon, the bank said.
