S.K. Roy, chairman, LIC, has been replaced with V.K. Sharma, MD of the corporation. The finance ministry announced the change. There are reports that an inquiry has been initiated against Roy over investments made by LIC in real estate firm Unitech in 2008-09. Roy had already submitted his request for voluntary retirement from LIC. Roy became LIC chairman in June 2013.
