State Bank of India would raise $ 1.5 billion by issuing dollar denominated bonds in the current financial year, according to a BSE filing from the bank. The bank said the executive committee of the central board will meet on 29 June to consider this proposal. The board would examine the status and decide on long term fund raising in single/multiple tranches up to $ 1500 million ($ one thousand five hundred million) through a public offer and/or private placement of senior unsecured notes in US dollar or any other convertible currency during the financial year 2016-17, it said.
