State Bank of India opened its first digital branch in Shillong. Meghalaya chief minister Mukul M Sangma inaugurated the facility at the bank’s main premises in the city. Speaking at the function, he said the new digital branch will bring more efficiency in banking and financial delivery mechanism. He also urged banks to collaborate with the state government in its various programs that would open up opportunities not only for the banks but for micro and small entrepreneurs. The SBI InTOUCH branch is the 101st branch in Meghalaya and the first digital branch in North East.
