The State Bank of India is giving shape to a plan to allow its female staff to work from home. News reports suggested the bank intends to check the technological feasibility of the proposal. The bank has some 45,000 women employees. The bank feels offering this option will help it to retain talent. Earlier ICICI Bank had introduced ‘iWork@home’ for its women employees with the help of IIT, Delhi, which developed the technology platform for the project. iWork allows women employees to work from home for up to a year. It also allows the home option to get extended for more than one year, based on the requirements of the employee.
