State Bank of India has launched ‘Her Ghar Her Car’ loyalty program under which those of availed of the bank’s earlier ‘Her Ghar’ product, can go in for a car loan at reduced interest rate of 10%. The ‘Her Ghar’ plan provided a concession in interest rates specifically for women home loan borrowers. Car loans to non-‘Her Ghar’ borrowers would continue to be at 10.25% p.a. ‘Her Ghar Her Car’ is an addition to products available with SBI wherein concession in rates have been introduced with the objective of reaching out to women in the country and empowering them to take decisions that can change the course of their family and society at large. Arundhati Bhatacharya, chairman of the bank, presented the first loan under the scheme to a customer.
