Banco Santander said it is expanding the use of OnePay FC platform powered by Ripple. The bank had partnered with Ripple earlier this year and has been carrying out pilots for using RippleNet for payment solutions. Post the pilot, the bank feels the use of Ripple has resulted in an increase in both speed and transparency. According to Ed Metzger, head of Innovation at Santander financial services is moving to a world of open platforms and this will allow companies to collaborate to deliver excellent customer service for their customers. The bank had earlier said it will be using the OnePay FX platform for all payment settlements in a number of countries now. At the moment, it is available in the UK, Spain, Poland, and Brazil only. It is now being rolled out across Europe, as well as to parts of South America and Asia.
