Royal Bank of Scotland said it is commissioning a chatbot, Cora, which is almost like a human to help customers. The bank said Cora will answer customers’ basic banking questions. The bank has already done a pilot in London. To start with Cora will be deployed to attend to customers of NatWest. The digital teller, who wears a NatWest branded uniform and has an ear piercing and sparkling teeth, answers simple questions like getting a mortgage or what to do if a customer loses his card. The bank also said Cora could also be used to train members of staff.
