The Reserve Bank of India has reconstituted the portfolios of the deputy governors following the appointment of Dr Michael Debabrata Patra as a deputy governor. Accordingly, N.S. Vishwanathan will handle coordination, departments of regulation, communication, enforcement, inspection, risk monitoring and secretarial. B.P. Kanungo will be in charge of the departments of currency management, external investments and operations, government and bank accounts, information technology, payment and settlement system, deposit insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation, foreign exchange, internal debt management, legal and right to information. M. K. Jain will hold charge of the departments of supervision, consumer education and protection, financial inclusion and development, HRM, premises, Central Security Cell and Rajyabhasha. Dr Patra will have charge of monetary policy, including Forecasting and Modelling Unit, financial market operations, financial markets regulation, including market intelligence, international, economic policy research, statistics and information management, corporate strategy and budget and Financial Stability Unit.
