The Reserve Bank of India is proposing to have a multimedia and multilingual campaign to create awareness among people about banking regulations and initiatives of the central bank. The central bank has sought proposals from advertising agencies in this regard. The campaign is proposed to be in 14 languages with specific focus on regional languages. The campaign would include print and audio-visual campaigns and displays in cinema halls. Besides, there will also be programs in the digital media. The selected agency would be required to create advertising content to successfully convey the desired messages. It is proposed that some 15 TV commercials, 15 radio spots and 15 print advertisements will be created every year. Meanwhile the central bank is also coming out with an awareness campaign, called ‘Suno RBI Kya Kehta Hai’ mainly through SMSs to warn the public against falling prey to unsolicited and fictitious offers from fraudsters.
