Rajnish Kumar, MD, SBI Caps, has been appointed MD, State Bank of India. He will be the fourth MD of the bank. Four DMDs of SBI group had appeared for interviews for the position. The post was lying vacant after the retirement of A Krishna Kumar in November last year. Others who had appeared for the interview included Praveen Kumar Gupta, SBI’s CFO, N.K, Chari, head of medium corporate group at SBI, and S.A. Ramesh Rangan, MD at State Bank of Patiala. Rajnish Kumar will handle the department of compliance and risk, which has been created for the first time by the bank. The other three serving MDs are Pradeep Kumar (Corporate Banking), B. Sriram (National Banking) and V.G. Kannan (Associates and Subsidiaries).
