MasterCard today launched a Reloadable Hajj Prepaid Card in Bangladesh in association with Premier Bank Bangladesh. The card is meant for pilgrims and Hajj agencies. This is the first ever Reloadable Hajj Card to be launched in Bangladesh. Premier Bank is a top issuer of prepaid cards for Hajj pilgrims and Hajj agencies in the country. It has branches across the country including all major cities like Dhaka, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Comilla, Rajshahi and Rangpur. The prepaid cardholders will enjoy some exclusive benefits while using the card. H.B.M. Iqbal, Chairman, Premier Bank, reaffirmed the commitment of Premier Bank to serve the Hajj pilgrims and hoped the pilgrims and Hajj agencies will be able to remain stress free during their pilgrimage as they will not need to carry cash. Vikas Varma, area head, South Asia, MasterCard said, the launch of the card marks another important step in MasterCard’s efforts to expand the use of electronic payments among the people of Bangladesh.
