A joint corporate responsibility initiative by PNB MetLife and Karnataka Bank will support a project for early childhood care and education for children in the age group of zero to six years in Karnataka. The project being carried out by Prajna Counselling Center located in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts works under Dakshina Kannada District Council for Child Welfare in spirit of public private partnership, Karnataka Bank said. The project impacts 751 children of migrant workers, labourers and domestic workers in the districts. It promotes early childhood care and children education along with benefits to the most vulnerable families and working women. Under the project, more than 950 children were enrolled in creche and school. Karnataka Bank MD and CEO P Jayarama Bhat, MetLife Asia president Christopher Townsend and PNB MetLife MD and CEO Tarun Chugh visited one of the creche centers in Neermarga and interacted with children.
