ANZ Bank has introduced a new service for small and medium sized businesses in New Zealand and claimed it is the first New Zealand bank to make mobile payments available for customers of all sizes. The bank says ANZ Direct Mobile is designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses. A spokesperson of the bank said from mum and dad, to tradesmen or local companies, right up to the largest corporates doing business internationally, the bank has a mobile solution enabling the customers to make any payment, any time, anywhere, and from the device of their choice. The ANZ Direct Mobile business owners can see their balances and transactions and approve and release domestic payment batches from their phone or tablet, on either the iOS or Android operating system. ANZ also has its goMoney mobile banking app aimed at retail customers, and ANZ Transactive Mobile apps allowing institutional, commercial and business banking customers to remotely monitor real-time balances on their New Zealand and Australian accounts, view transactions, approve and release payments and obtain live currency rates. The bank also launched ANZ FastPay, an app letting merchants process Visa and MasterCard credit and debit card payments via smartphones, earlier this year.
