Myanmar’s Myanmar Apex Bank has introduced a SMS-based mobile banking service called ‘MAB Mobile Bank’. The users of the service will be able to top up their mobile service, as well as pay bills and make other payments. The service is compatible with SIM cards, on both smartphones and features phones. The account holders can access the service to top up their mobile accounts, pay bills, and make money transfers, as well as withdraw funds from MAB ATM machines without a card. MAB has agreements with telecom operators, travel and tour companies, restaurants, cinema tickets, government departments for the payment of bills, shopping outlets and pay-TV channels.
