New life insurance scheme for rural people

Future Generali India Life Insurance Company has launched a new rural product – Jan Suraksha – providing life cover at a low one-time premium. The term of the policy is 8 years and premium options are Rs 500 to Rs 750 for entry age of 18 to 45 years. Munish Sharda, MD & CEO of the company, said the Indian rural market is still under-penetrated in the life insurance segment and there is a lot the company can do in that space. Through the new product, the company aims help households to weather the impact that a death of a breadwinner can have on a family. This is a simple product, which offers the essential security of life insurance, he said. The company is a joint venture between Future Group of India, Assicurazioni Generali, a global insurance group, and IITL, a leading NBFC.
