The National Bank of Abu Dhabi said it is planning to adopt the Ripple protocol for all cross-border transactions. The bank believes that blockchain technology can be a useful way of doing cross-border transactions and when it comes to selecting from different blockchain technologies, it has opted for Ripple. The bank is expected to integrate the Ripple protocol into its existing infrastructure. This will enable its regional customers to transfer funds to beneficiary accounts instantly. All their transactions will take place in real time. Ripple technology has gained increasing levels of attention in recent months as banks around the world have shown interest in its real-time payment flows.
