National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Nabard has entered in a memorandum of understanding with World Resources Institute (WRI) to develop methodologies for natural resources management. Through the MoU, both entities would collectively work for regeneration of forests and rural economy. Nabard chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala said both the entities would work in the areas of climate change adaptation and mitigation, land restoration, energy access for rural areas through renewable energy, transfer of technologies, scaling up adaptation and tools based on best practises at global level for promoting sustainable development. WRI India board member and chairman and MD of Godrej & Boyce Jamshyd Godrej said the partnership would be of immense value in terms of working in the areas of skill development in rural sectors and areas related to climate change through restoring landscapes. Nabard has also signed an MoU with Godrej & Boyce for implementation of CSR initiatives in sectors like healthcare, education, sanitation, drinking water at all areas nearby Godrej factories and in those places where Nabard has projects.
