N.K. Chari is the new MD of State Bank of Mysore. He assumed office on 30 May. Prior to his new position, he was a DMD of State Bank of India. A postgraduate in commerce from Delhi University, he joined SBI as a probationary officer in September 1978. He was COO in National Banking Group, the retail branch network of SBI, and also headed the Mid Corporate Vertical of the bank. Prior to that, he was CGM of the bank’s Chandigarh Circle covering Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh with over 1,000 branches. He has also served as the MD of Nepal SBI Bank for four years from 2007.
