Myanmar Oriental Bank will use VMWare technology to upgrade its banking system. VMWare will help the bank with its cloud and virtualisation software. The upgrades include converting physical data centre to a virtual one, which means that every transaction will be processed online through a cloud system, making the bank’s operations faster and more secure, with a better chance of data recovery in case of disaster. Around 49% of internet use in Myanmar is through phones and the bank will now be able to provide a fast and secure mobile service. The bank has set up VMware software including vCloud Suite, NSX and Virtual SAN. Earlier, AYA Bank has signed with VMware to virtualize its data centre and network infrastructure.
