Kanbawza or KBZ Bank of Myanmar has set up a representative office in Singapore, the first Myanmar bank to do so. The office is located at One Raffles Place. KBZ Bank said the office will serve as a source of information for regulatory requirements in both markets, as well as offering market research and feasibility studies on investment and business opportunity and private sector liaison services. After China, Singapore is Myanmar’s largest investor. The bank also said visa-free travel between Myanmar and Singapore will commence soon and this, coupled with Singapore’s significant flow of investments to Myanmar, will serve to further the ease of doing business between the two nations.
