LIC wants to modernize its existing corporate website (www.licindia.in) to provide an enriched user experience to its customers. It has sought offers from service providers to undertake the task, which aims at providing a completely new look and feel of the website and the work would include project planning and management, system study and preparation of functional requirement study documents, designing the website appearance, designing the information architecture, installation and configuration of new content management system at the primary disaster recovery sites, migration of the existing content in various formats, databases, files, etc to the proposed CMS and hardware, network and bandwidth sizing and setting up of all required environment. The website will be multi-lingual with support for content to be displayed in 10 languages. The assignment will also include performance and security testing, unit testing, UAT support and provision of testing tools, besides training and knowledge transfer. The selected service provider will have to re-design the existing website and provide it with a fressh look and feel and migrate content from the existing website to the new CMS. and provide the software requirement and get it approved by LIC. The new website should comply with web standards (HTML5, XHTML and CSS3) and be flexible to keep pace with future developments in web technologies.One of the aspects that LIC has stressed is that the website should haver a quickly-loading lowmaintenance home page and a secure site with basic user permissions and management capability.
