Lakshmi Vilas Bank celebrated completion of 88 years of its existence on 3 November. The bank has never been making any celebrations on its anniversary and this year, according to the new chief executive of the bank Rakesh Sharma, the new management thought it fit to launch a series of initiatives and make the bank more relevant and up-to-date in the fast changing banking environment. The bank had earlier shifted its corporate headquarters from Karur to Chennai. The bank has also engaged Ernst and Young as a consultant to advise it on undertaking a transformation process. The bank has also inducted experienced professionals in key management positions too.
