Kotak Mahindra Bank has launched 6 mobile medical vans in Hyderabad, which will function as primary health centers on wheels. The bank has entered into a partnership with Wockhardt Foundation for the purpose under its CSR program on healthcare. Each van is staffed with a qualified doctor, a pharmacist, a program coordinator / social worker and a driver. The vans will offer medical care to people and those needing further care will be recommended to the nearest government hospitals. Each MMV aims to treat 75 patients from the slums of Hyderabad per day. These vans will collectively touch the lives of about 150,000 patients annually in and around the city. Dipak Gupta, joint MD, Kotak Mahindra Bank said each MMV will offer free basic medical services like awareness, diagnosis, cure and referrals to underprivileged people in and around Hyderabad. The vans have GPS trackers and will be monitored by Wockhardt Foundation’s CSR Program office.
