Kotak Mahindra Bank said it is launching banking services through WhatsApp on a pilot basis. The bank will be the first to have such a service. Customers can interact with the bank through the bank’s WhatsApp number 91 22 6600 6022. The channel will direct customers seeking information on service requests such as updating PAN, mobile number, email ID, Aadhaar number, activating/deactivating passbook, updating FATCA declaration, cancelling NACH mandate, deregistering printed statement, change of home branch, etc. to the bank’s website. The bank is also intending to provide digital welcome kits of its Kotak 811 customers through WhatsApp. The WhatsApp initiative is part of the bank’s digital-first organic growth strategy, driven by its ABCD charter – AI enriched App, Biometric enabled Branch, Context enhanced Customer Experience and Data empowered Design.
