Joydeep Dutta, who is Executive Director and Group CTO for CDSL, is retiring from the company on 31 December. He had joined CDSL in July 2014 and has been heading the technology group at the company and its subsidiaries, CVL, CIRL and CCRL. His 37-year career also saw him holding leadership positions in institutions such as ICICI Securities, ICICI Bank,and Gartner.
Dutta had nearly 2 decades of technology leadership experience with ICICI group. He has been spearheading the digital transformation in the group in the early days of technology adoption and has led several projects in the group. He has also held consultancy positions in US companies during his 11 year stint in US before returning to India in 1995.
He began his career in 1982 as a programmer analyst at ABC Consultants in their computer consultancy division. He has won several technology awards and recognitions for his contributions to the development of technology in the financial services industry. As an industry veteran and thought leader, he has been featured frequently as speaker / panel member /moderator / jury member in prominent industry forums and events in India and abroad.
Dutta has been a close associate in the various knowledge sharing efforts of Banking Frontiers, including its flagship events of Finnoviti and Technoviti. He has been a regular member of the jury selecting pioneering innovators in the financial services sector for the Finnoviti and Technoviti awards.
In reply to a mail about his plans, he said that he may be in advisory, consultancy, part time CIO, visiting faculty and technology committee roles.
