Pune based Janata Sahakari Bank had nearly 14 lakh customers at March end of 2016. The bank plans to add about 2 lakh new customers during 2016-17. To achieve this objective, the bank has reduced the rate of interest on advances as compared to other cooperative banks. Further, the branches of the bank have been arranging seminars as well as investments meets for businessmen and traders at various industrial places. The branches have also been arranging the meetings for professionals such as chartered accountants and company secretaries to fulfill their requirements through its pro-growth scheme. Programs have also been arranged by the branches at various colleges for students who are willing to join various educational courses in India or abroad and also to fulfill their daily requirements (class fees, hostel fees, laptop, study material, etc.) through the bank’s Eduflex scheme.
