ING Netherlands has launched a new service that uses voice biometrics technology, which will allow bank customres to access their account using vocal commands. According to news reports, the bank’s updated mobile app now includes voice-activated functions through which customers can access their accounts, as well as check their balance and issue payments without needing to use a PIN number. Voice biometrics technology is considered more secure than having to enter a PIN number. The technology has been developed by a US firm, Nuance. According to an official of the bank said inclusion of biometrics technology has made banking faster, smoother and easier for customers as well as improving access. The technology also offers alternatives to voice-activated biometrics access, such as fingerprint scanning.
