Bank of Maldives expands convenient banking by series of ATMs

Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a number of self-service banking ATM centres in the last month as part of an ongoing investment programme to support local communities by expanding banking services across the country. Bank of Maldives has set up such ATMs in Thaa Atoll Hirilandhoo, R. Maduvarri, and Maamendhoo, Laamu Atoll.

Tim Sawyer, BML’s CEO and Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted to expand our self-service banking services and support the community of Hirilandhoo. This centre will benefit the people and businesses of the island and ensure that convenient banking services are widely accessible”. 

Thaa Atoll has a branch with self-service banking facilities in Guraidhoo and Veymandoo, as well as a self-service banking ATM centre in Thimarafushi, in addition to the new ATM Centre in Hirilandhoo.

BML now has 35 branches across all 20 atolls, 80 self-service banking centres, 138 ATMs, over 200 agents, and a full suite of digital banking services.

Tim Sawyer further commented, “Opening of ATM centre in Maduvvari demonstrates our commitment to expand access to convenient banking services in the atolls. We look forward to adding more ATMs to our network over the coming weeks to support individuals, businesses and communities across the country.” 

BML has continued to scale up its presence in Laamu atoll with the introduction of a new ATM centre in Maamendhoo, Laamu atoll. Tim Sawyer commented, “As part of our financial inclusion strategy, we will continue to invest in expanding banking services to islands across the Maldives.”
