ICICI Bank has opened 320 bank branches so far, this financial year and is planning to add 130 more in the next 6 months. The bank will then have a branch network of 5320 by March 2020. The Bank now has a wide network of over 5,190 branches, extension counters and ATMs across the country. Its branch footprint now covers locations across the country from Leh in Jammu & Kashmir to Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, from Naliya in Gujarat to Aizawl in Mizoram. Nearly half of the branches are in rural and semi-urban areas to facilitate financial inclusion in the country. Anup Bagchi, ED of the bank, said the strategy is to set up branches wherever business activity emerges and the plan is to set up around 450 branches this fiscal in fresh catchments and micro-markets where economic activity is present. The bank has found that its customers are keener to seek advice and guidance from branches for complex transactions, loans and investments.
