ICICI Bank launches cleanliness modules

ICICI Bank announced that it will take multiple sanitation, health and hygiene training module covering some 1.5 lakh individuals across the country as part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. These modules will be located at 24 urban centers, 200 rural centers run by ICICI Academy of Skills and 17 Rural Self-Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) and will train people in sanitation, health and hygiene, the bank said. The bank is also holding awareness programs in 100 ICICI Digital Villages, wherein each attendee of these programs will act as an influencer in his or her respective family. The training module will cover 3 important aspects of hygiene – the importance and knowhow of maintaining personal hygiene focusing on activities like regular hand wash and usage of toilets among others, ways of maintaining community hygiene through the segregation of waste at the household and the community level, information on public toilets and prevention of water and air borne diseases and government initiatives on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO of the bank, participated in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign along with the bank employees, by cleaning the area surrounding the Backbay Reclamation branch in Mumbai.
