HSBC will set up a campus in Hyderabad to consolidate the operations of its Global Service Centers functioning from four locations in the city and employing 7000 people. According to Subir Mehra, head, Global Service Centers of the bank, the campus will come up in the Cyberabad area. HSBC has global service centers in 7 countries with a head count of 50,000 people. This is said to be the largest BPO network in the world. In India, there are such centers in Chennai, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam and Kolkata. Hyderabad will be the first location where a campus is being considered. The centers undertake work involving analytics, financial crime monitoring and investigation, completing KYC files, account opening for retail and corporate customers and payment processing.
