HDFC Bank workshop for Mumbai police

HDFC Bank organized a training workshop for cyber-crime responses for Mumbai Police. The workshop was intended to update the skill sets of law enforcement authorities and enhance their ability to tackle economic offences in the banking space. This training is part of HDFC Bank’s Secure Banking Initiative, aimed at engaging with all its key stakeholders to improve security in banking across different channels to prevent cyber-crime. The bank has created the program with special emphasis on cybercrimes, covering various aspects of investigating economic offences in the banking space, such as how to identify and deal with skimming scams, vishing, phishing, data counterfeiting, identity theft, e-commerce trends, retail assets fraud, SIM duplication and email threats among others. Over 50 police officers attended the workshop in Mumbai. The bank plans to conduct similar workshops at regular intervals to train over 300 police officers of Mumbai Police. Anil Kumbhare, deputy commissioner of police, Mumbai, and Prasun Singh, chief vigilance officer, HDFC Bank, inaugurated the workshop.
