HDFC Bank will find a replacement for Sukthankar

HDFC BankAditya Puri, MD and CEO of HDFC Bank, said the bank will get a replacement for Paresh Sukthankar, deputy MD, who has resigned from the bank. The replacement will be found by the end of August, Puri said, addressing investors of the bank. He added that Sukthankar had left because of some personal reasons and his exit had nothing to do with succession plans in the bank. He also added that Sukthankar was among the contenders for the CEO position. The bank had announced Sukthankar’s resignation through a stock exchange filing, without attributing any reasons. He has given a 90-day notice. Sukthankar has been with HDFC Bank since its inception in 1994 and currently responsible for overseeing the bank’s credit, finance and human resources functions. He was appointed to the post of deputy MD in March 2017.  The bank is about to start the process of finding a replacement for Puri, who is to retire in 2020.
