Federal Bank launches Campus Wallet

Federal Bank has launched Campus Wallet, a student identity card in Kerala in tie up Chillr. The wallet cum identity card is integrated with banking technology which facilitates students to make small payments within their school/college without opening a bank account. Parents can pre-load the desired amount to these cards using their debit/credit cards or through net banking using Federal Bank’s payment gateway. Students can make payments in stores, canteen, library etc within the campuses by flashing the card at the special swiping machines installed at these locations. Federal Bank deputy general manager Mohan K said the bank will send alert messages and reports to parents with usage specific details like books taken from library, food consumed etc. Chillr MD Asif Basheer said currently 16 schools in the state have onboarded to Cmpus Wallet with around 14000 students using the Campus Wallet. In association with Federal Bank, Chillr wants to launch the product in more areas in Kerala and Bengaluru city, he said. The company has set a target to reach to 120 campuses by the end of this academic year covering 1.80 lakh students and have already received interest from 78 educational institutions to launch the product.
