The central government has transferred 8 executive directors of public sector banks taking effect from 1 April. The transfers come in the wake of the merger of several banks to create 4 large banks. Sanjay Kumar, ED at United Bank of India, has been appointed ED, Punjab National Bank, Vijay Dube, ED, Oriental Bank of Commerce, as ED, Punjab National Bank, Ajit Kumar Das, ED, Union Bank of India, as ED, Punjab and Sind Bank, Birupaksha Mishra, ED, Corporation Bank as ED, Union Bank of India, Krishnan S, ED, Syndicate Bank as ED, Canara Bank, Ajay S.Khurana, ED, Syndicate Bank, as ED, Bank of Baroda, K. Ramachandran, ED, Allahabad Bank, as ED, Indian Bank and P.R. Rajagopal, ED, Allahabad Bank, as ED, Bank of India. The other appointments were that of Nageswara Rao Y, who was officer on special duty at Syndicate Bank as ED at Bank of Maharashtra and that of Mrutyunjay Mahaparta, who was MD and CEO of Syndicate Bank as officer on special duty at Canara Bank. His appointment will be for a period until 5 May 2020 when he retires from service.
