Doha Bank is launching full-fledged banking operation in Singapore. Sheikh Abdul Rehman bin Mohammad bin Jabor Al Thani, MD of the bank, said the bank is expanding operations in Qatar as well as overseas. After India, it is working to open a branch in Singapore in the coming days, he said. He said there is no impact of the ongoing economic blockade on the bank’s operations, adding the bank is just reorganizing its processes and areas of investments. Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of the bank, said the bank is already maintaining a representative office in Singapore for 11 years. The plan is to convert this office into full-scale operations and the bank is waiting for regulatory approvals. It will be fully owned by Doha Bank group and provide all retail banking services.
