Kerala based Calicut Co-op Urban Bank has dramatically reduced its gross NPA from a high of 32.36% in March 2003 to a low of 1.74% in March 2016. In 2003, the management realized the importance of developing a separate wing for NPA management and monitoring. The gross NPA was cut down to 23.67% in March 2004 and further down to 7.76% in March 2008. The net NPA is 0% for the last 12 years.For this achievement, the bank won an award for best NPA managment at FCBA 2016. As of 31 March 2016, the bank as 78,150 members, Rs 373.28 cr in deposits and Rs 231.03 cr in advances.
