Barclays Bank is set to close down the Barclays Technology Center in McKinney, Texas, less than two years after it was opened. The center specializes in digital technology products and services for the bank’s global operations. The work being carried out at the center will now be shifted to the bank’s technology hubs in the UK, India and other sites in the US. The center employs almost 200 full-time employees and more than 70 contractors and managed service employees, all of whom will be laid off.
